Moonah Springworks is a family owned business and has been trading since 1972. Originally in Charles Street in Moonah, Moonah Springworks is now situated at 15 Sunderland Street still in Moonah - but in a much larger and more accessible workshop.

At our new workshop customers with large vehicles or trucks can enter in one end of the building and exit the other making it more convenient not to mention safer.

Manager Mick Fisher did his apprentiship under his father Geoff (with over 60 years in spring making). Mick has been in the industry since 1991 and is a certified springsmith.

A lot of people think that springs need to be replaced if they are old or sagged - this is nearly always false. Generally all springs can be reset or repaired - and the great thing about this is that the customer gets to choose the height or strength of their springs whereas aftermarker springs are set at a height that will be "near enough".

Some aftermarket spring suppliers are just "fitters" of parts and have no knowledge of how springs work. This is often the reason customers don't get what they need, they are just getting what's available.

We can also manufacture new leaf springs to just about any specification to suit anything from a hot rod to 80 tonne crane. We cannot manufacture coil springs but can raise, lower or modify existing coils.

We can add extra leaves to parabolic springs to lift and strengthen but we cannot reset them if they have done over 60,000km. We can also remove and replace with multileaf spring packs which are far more versatile in the long run and can also be repaired on site.

We stock a large range of parts - pins, bushes, shocks as well as aftermarket coil and leaf springs.

One of the more common jobs we do here is fit extra leaves to vehicles to improve load carrying capacity - this makes vehicles safer and more pleasurable to drive.

We offer a chisel forging and tempering service as well as manufacturing our own springsteel pry and crow bars.
